WHAT IS RinGO?

RinGO IS A DATABASE-CONNECTABLE OR FROM SCRATCH CREATABLE SYSTEM THAT SORTS AND VISUALIZES DOCUMENTS OF DIFFERENT FORMATS
ACCORDING TO THEIR CREATION DATE ALONG THE CIRCULAR PATH

WHY RinGO?

THE CIRCULAR DISPLAY OF DOCUMENTS

is potentially easier to navigate and speeds up the search

HOLISTIC DISPLAY OF MASSIVE INFORMATION

Deep dive into the prototype

HOW DOES RinGO WORKS?

Get to know the principle by which RinGO sorts and displays documentation in time.

THE PAST

Did ancient civilizations already use circularly arranged information for particular purposes? Many historical artifacts remain a mystery. Here, we discover the history of the RinGO prototype and how it evolved from the
Time Turner model.

THE PRESENT

The visual organization of documents is linear. Using the RinGO sorter, which arranges documents along the circle,
we potentially increase the display capacity and improve orientation in the massive amount of documents accumulated over time.

THE FUTURE

The RinGO prototype needs to be tested on the market to find a way to its users. Our vision of the future of data visualization is at the level of an idea. Still, we are very close to a user-friendly beta version available on display digital devices and holograms.

RinGO ORIGINS

PITCH_Time_Turner_GIF

RinGO originates from the ancestral Time Turner prototype designed during the SciCommHackathon at CERN to digitally improve the visual communication of scientific projects and milestones presented over a broad time scale.

One of the pioneering ideas was to create a spiral time navigator that would output visual information corresponding to a selected time on the spiral.

The ring-shaped design proved to be more practical to manipulate. Time landmarks, which would also be a point of visualization of a scientific project in a given period, are arranged like planets in orbit.

The final front-end version and the first back-end script came when we defined the details of the Time Turner functions. See Time Turner’s final pitch on the official page of SciCommHackathon@CERN.

Time Turner prototype evolved into RinGO during the Scinaptics pre-incubator.

DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT
"HAS IT BECOME TOO CLOUDY?"

“Behind the clouds, the sun shines brightly!”

THE VISION

The idea is to develop software that exclusively extracts documentation created and shared on the diverse web and cloud-based applications, kept on cloud-based storages, and documents produced and stored on digital devices to enable easier sorting and visualization.

RinGO aims to provide users with an easy orientation in the constantly growing amount of records, saving significant time otherwise invested in documentation management and visualizing them in a presentation-friendly way!

DIGITAL DOCUMENTATION MANAGEMENT

Onsite storage – multiple databases are installed on your digital device(s) and contain documents of different formats and sources.

Offsite (or cloud-based) storage – multiple databases are accessible from any digital device if connected to the internet.

Documents are arranged as they arrive at the specific database unless the user makes re-arrangements.

Both onsite and offsite storages provide the document search filters according to their format, title, creator’s name, creation date, size, etc.

Onsite storages recognize documents from other onsite storages, while offsite storages recognize documents exclusively within their database.

Documents are presented linearly or tabularly, with limited space for document visualization in a wide time range.

Onsite storage – single RinGO installed connects to multiple databases storing their documents.

Offsite (or cloud-based) storage – single online RinGO storage connects to multiple web and cloud-based apps and storages.

RinGO arranges documents from multiple databases exclusively in time unless the user specifies a different date.

In addition filters documents according to the web editor, communication platform, or cloud storage where the document was created or shared.

Being installed on the device or cloud-based, RinGO filters documentation from various online and offline databases.

Documents are arranged along the circle, with enlarged space for document visualization in time, covered with a glance.

BETA

We aim to develop the beta version, available for testing on various digital display devices, user-friendly and responsive to the requirements of the modern age, such as time-saving digital document management and effective visual communication of milestones.

CIRCULAR TRACES OF TIME IN NATURE

“Learn how to see … Realize that everything connects to everything else.”

Leonardo da Vinci

RinGO’s navigation system is based on the intuitive experience of time cycles, and its design is inspired by examples found in nature. RinGO provides the maximum visualization of increasing digital documentation, making the search …

… as easy as looking at the clock!

We are searching for an enthusiastic developer who will make RinGO available and ready for its users
